With spnm and the
Richard Alston Dance Company Mark collaborated with choreographer
Martin Lawrance to create a new work, stealing poison,
which toured the UK as part of the Brief Candles tour. To view a

royal philharmonic
society commission
After being awarded
the Royal Philharmonic Society Composition Prize in 2006 and
composed a new work, cruithne, for players from the
Philharmonia Orchestra which was performed at the Queen Elizabeth
Hall in May 2007.

world music days 2007
Mark's orchestral
work sudden light was recently selected by the ISCM British Section
for consideration by the ISCM International Jury for performance at
the ISCM World Music Days 2007 in Hong Kong.

handel house
composer-in-residence
Mark was appointed
Handel House Museum's first composer-in-residence from 2006-2007.
During his residency he composed several new works for the museum
including black yew, white cloud for string quartet and
when the sun begins to fling for CoMA.

okeanos project
Mark composed a new
work for western and Japanese instruments to be performed with
guest artists from Japan in collaboration with Asian Music
Circuit.

bbc symphony orchestra
project
Mark spent 2004/2005
working with the BBC Symphony Orchestra on a new 15 minute
orchestral work after being selected in the final stage of the
BBC/spnm's writing for orchestra project. The new work, entitled
sudden light, was premiered in London in April 2005 and broadcast
on Radio 3's Hear and Now in July 2005.

st paul's sinfonia
collaboration
St Paul's Sinfonia
performed two of Mark's chamber works, the dawn halts and the
winged figure in a series of concerts at the newly restored
Hawksmoor St Paul's Church in Deptford. Mark will be writing a new
work for the orchestra for their forthcoming season.

camberwell
composers' collective
Mark set up the
Collective with composer friends Emily Hall, Chris Mayo and
Anna
Meredith in April 2004. In 2007 we were pleased to welcome
Charlie
Piper as a new member. c3's regular gigs at The Crypt have
become a fixture in London's music scene, and have featured
collaborations with DJs, video artists, and countless talented
young performers.
